I dont understand why people use the excuse " i had to keep up with the pack"
I have been both withing the first 5 cars and the last 5 cars at previous cruises and never had a problem. I drove within my limits and the cars limits and never had a problem. We had times when we wore doing 40km an hour + frequent stops how can you not keep up. We do these cruises for the pleasure of driving and Jay hits the mark every time. You dont need to be at the front of the pack to have fun we are all on the same road heading the same direction anyway.
I think the above mentioned cars should not be alowed back next time.

Well said, enjoy the roads, it's not a race.

I feel like you missed a few things I said so I will reiterate...

What happened to me was in no part a result of the cruise, organizer, or any other Maxbimmer members. This situation, in my opinion, could have happened at any time regardless of whether we were part of a cruise, a group, or just a solo trip.

What I said about the instructions as well as the "driving like an idiot to keep up" was purely in response to the statement brought up separate to my post. It's a fact, there were people that struggled to follow the instructions; whether this be because of their incompetence or the directions itself is irrelevant. People were also driving like idiots at times during the cruise. It wasn't a good mix, and when you play with fire...etc. etc. I didn't mean this as an attack on anybody so I apologize if it came off that way, it was simply my observation.

I apologize if my accident caused any bad rep for you or your cruise, obviously not what I had hoped for going into it. I just felt it would be beneficial to share my experience to maybe help you to improve things moving forward but I guess it had a different result. In the future I'll likely elect not to attend any of these cruises (not sure if I'd be welcome or not anyway, though I honestly don't feel my driving was a threat to anybody else; those who drove around me please feel free to let me know if you felt otherwise). It wasn't exactly what I anticipated it would be, but let's please be clear I'm in no way saying it was a bad event.

On a separate note, I'm glad to hear the driver of the 1er is also okay. Up until this point I had only heard about the crash which sounded pretty bad and nothing about how he was doing. It's definitely a tough lesson to learn, but it was a good one for both of us.

Did you forget that you posted this?

Maybe one day you will reflect on this and see that maybe if you were more alert, maybe you could have backed off well before the accident.

Does saying I'm not blaming you make it any better?

Thank you Jay for organizing this event, this was my third cruise.. it is very unfortunate certain individuals bring their sort of stupidity to these cruises with them..

Looking forward to the future events with the hopes of less idiots attending..

If you break the law you should be reported. The fourth warning/rule should be that all vehicles and drivers that drive dangerously will be reported to the OPP with evidence.

If you want a course/route instructions, you actually register your vehicle and information. You have reached the point of requiring waivers and protection from legal issues as an organized event. If you drive like an ass, you get cut and reported with full information and multiple witnesses.

The idiots are not only ruining a simple cruise but are setting up all participants and the organizer for huge legal issues.

I couldn't make it for the opening of the spring cruise this year .....Hopefully i will be able to attend the fall cruise.......but ... Wow that is too bad that for a few bad apple would spoil a beautiful event of which the organizer goes through a lot of planting and driving to make everybody happy.......I think those bad apple should be eliminated for attending..... It's a cruise and not a race.... It's a friendly event and not a fight....Keep it up Jay....

Future Cruises

Hi all.
I have been to many, many cruise and Max events. There have been times where all went smoothly and times where metal met metal. However, these were very rare occasions. I have known people on the board prior to them having their 365's and its a bit disappointing that a few bad apples can leave such a bad taste in people's mouth. For all first time cruises, please don't judge as all members don't reflect some of the bad apples and their actions. It's your vehicle, you ned to be in CONTROL of it.
Jay, you did. Another fine job with organizing another cruise.
And the majority of the group had a great time!
The only tidbit I have was the time we hung out at the Commons....
Not sure what the depart was scheduled for but it felt like it took forever to leave.
See you July 5th...peace!

As in every event I've organized, we leave one hour after the schedule meet time. Meet time was 11:00 and I was speaking by 12:10. I also had at least a dozen guys ask to delay leaving due to the traffic on the 401. I chose not to listen.

Thanks for the supportive words guys. And of course the glitter car is a 2.0L.
