I'll disagree. I did most of it on my own, and as nice as some of the roads are, I would have enjoyed it more if I was with a group of at least 3 or 4 other cars. On your own you run way more of a risk of getting hit by a speed trap. There were a couple unmarked cars that I went by while I was ahead of everyone, luckily I saw them early enough to slow down. Having someone up front cruising at a decent speed with a radio to warn people helps.
Unfortunately there's always going to be those idiot drivers on the cruises. Best thing is to just leave as much distance between you and them as you can.

No doubt about the track experience.
I was just referring to it in general. People were being unsafe. Simple.
Non the less I had a great time. Hopefully do it again. And I'll stay back on the crazy crowd. I like my front bumper, don't need more rock chips lol

Track experience really can't translate very well onto a road that is completely unknown to you with set speed limits and drivers who are oncoming and unaware that they are about to face a 130km/h Bimmer around a blind corner
I've been to cruises before, even stayed up at the front of the pack, but I thought this one was a bit out of control. Glad I had a navigator-- I was luckier than the 20+ cars that went off route around me on 4 separate occasions while trying to keep up with the "cruise" and look at the directions at the same time...

resetting your ODO every turn is key to keeping track of the route, regardless of passengers or not. It's a simple concept, at the turn hit reset, look at the page for the distance until the next turn... then keep that KM marker in mind.

+1. I absolutely do not understand how people get lost. For crying out loud, the map shows the km intervals between each and every single turn. Just reset the odo at the start point or lunch stop and you have no legitimate reason to lose track of the route.
If I can manage to find you guys in the middle of nowhere after being almost a half hour behind, I fail to see why anyone else can't stick to the plan.

+1 for resetting the odometer after every turn (or so). It worked quite nicely to keep me on track, although I had the advantage of having a co-pilot.

Had a blast guys, most of you guys are crazy fast, too fast for me to keep up with at times. But enjoyed the M sounds as they passed me. Through the corners I felt like some followed too close, I understand if you can take a corner at crazy speeds, but the person in front might not be as fast. There was also an older gentleman in a Green E36 that almost ran me off the road. Apart from that I had a great time, the cars were sick and the exhaust noises was unbelievable. Look forward to next time!

This is why we can't have nice things.
I don't care how much track experience you have, you can't predict what another car is going to do. Driving fast is one thing, doing it on public streets and being a douche is another.
