Where to go for software updates?

so I went to Open Road BMW today and got my CEL solved, they replaced the MAF for free, apparently its $630 installed there, how dealers can make a part that's $170 become $630 on the bill is beyond my guess.

There's a TSB for my car's tranny software, which I've been looking into update it for a while, I didn't want to sit there and wait another 1hr for 'em to do it, just wondering where's a decent dealership I should go to around Mississauga? Budd's??? or Mississauga BMW?

what's this about the tranny software, I had something popped up on my display once, something about "trans failure" along those lines, never happened again, thought this might be related

**** bimmerforums is down, I forgot the TSB #, but it's for cars from 98-2001, it has really harsh downshift from 2-1.

that tranny failure shit is weird, hey, do you sometime get this really harsh shift when you put in reverse?
