another m42 oil leak...

not too long ago i replaced the O-ring and gasket for the oil filter canister.

today at the gas station i decided to check my oil.... well there was oil. All over the front of my motor sprayed everywhere. turned the car back on to see where it was leaking from..

the leak is on the intake side where the valve cover overlaps the head and timing chain cover right at the top...

i replaced the valve cover gasket 2 years ago as well

i'll take some pics later....

It looks like i can get away with just removing the upper chain cover... More i have been looking into doing this the more im shaking my head lol.

I'm going to try and start working on it before the weekend so i can finish sunday... I hope!

Need to get that heater going in my garage!

Front timing cover seal?

I did it on my Ti without removing the crank pulley and lower timing cover...

Just take the pulley off and do it all at once. It will take an extra hour or two, but it will be done properly and not leak. Plus you can do your front crank seal on the timing cover side and the lower timing cover gasket.
