Our CEO got one at the launch yesterday and handed it over for testing so I've been playing with it since then. It's a very solid device, they did a nice job on it. The UI is better than anything on the market IMO. A lot of major apps aren't available yet, but it's a new platform and even Microsoft couldn't avoid that problem. It's hard to attract developers until they know you have numbers, unless you pay them.
There's a chance they might sell a lot of these based on word of mouth, or maybe the new devices don't catch on, who knows. I like using it a lot.

Jamil I dont know what phone your CEO was using but my geak friends got a sneak peak at it today and they said its nothing special and the resolution of the screen is crap.If they try and sell these phones for over $299 to the third world subscribers and try and turn a profit off them BB is finished. Now they are delaying the release in the states for 7 weeks by that time Apple and Samsung would be releasing their newer models.

The z10 has a slightly higher resolution than the Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 (z10 1280x768, S3 1280x720, iP5 1136x640), I wouldn't really call that crap by any means. Maybe not as innovative as a few new phones have or will have 1920x1080.
I'm pretty sure the American delay was the US Carrier's decision, not Blackberry's. The phone has already been released in a few markets.

The fact is with anything new product release, there are pros and cons, positive and negative reviews or opinions, so you just cant go by a Geek friend's opinions. From FB polls, there are alot of LIKE of the new device.. even APPL has some negatives review.. to each his own, maybe Jamil's CEO like th Z10.. so I think he knows better and I am not going to question what phone he was using before the Z10..and thats why there are many brand of phones for a consumer to choose.. if you prefer samsung, go for it.. Iphone5.. go for it.... and some consumers will go for BB, nothing wrong with that...
i dont see why a company cannot revamp itself from its fall from grace..., at least BB is trying....
The release of March was not a delayed decision, it was announced duing the launch.....

Thinair already posted a good reply with specs, another way to judge these things is by pixel density, since screen resolution doesn't tell the whole story since screen sizes are different. Even here the Z10 wins.

I don't know what your "geek friends" were looking at, but I was looking at this thing and it looked very good to my eyes. And that was with the plastic packaging still on.

Its called marketing, you know that the big day is coming and you still havent dealt with the carriers yet?...Its great that the loyal BB users are falling over each other to get one but really what does this phone have that is call a game changer for the market?.What magically feature that would get the android and apple users to switch over?.Heins admit to WSJ RIM spend hundreds of millions on this launch and RIM will not show any sort of profits until 2014.Wait until the Apple and Samsung hype machine get going for their new phones BB10 better start selling or they will get swamped.

I dont see it as a negative to sell this new device in the US until March..since US consumers are in for the Andriod and Iphone.. BB's decision to sell in Canada and other countries first might be a good marketing play BB already has alot of negatives against them, so this is not anything new.. ..it is also reported that BB will not see any profit until a few quarters, there is space in this world for smartphone players.. at least with the new Z10, there is a fighting chance for BB not to lose more sales..to Andriod and Appl...without this new device (obviously to you is crap, so you dont have to fall over with BB fans to upgrade) the death of RIM will be more prevalent
The enterprise users wil stil stay with BB and for young retail consumers, one never knows why and when they will switch to the Z10, there might be a simple feature,(like the BBM video or Storymaker with the photo editor, the Hub, the Balance or the Peak) to make them switch...
In my family there are 4 Iphone4 users with 3 Ipad2 and one Ipad mini and yet I like the new z10 which I will be getting shortly...to each his own...
Jamil: Thats a good link. good comparision..

It's not RIM anymore, its now Blackberry.
Probably a sign that research is no longer in motion, they've fallen so far behind.

Did you hear that RIM (blackberry) are now a sponsor for the Mercedes benz f1 team.
How's that for a "bold" move

more of a foolish move, the money can be spent on designing their next phone since this phone will go stale in 6 months.

looks like a decent phone.. too bad it's already obsolete... 2013 will be one heck of a year for the mobile platform, and the already rumored Android power houses that are going to start appearing soon are going to once again put the current BB lineup to shame.

The new BB phones are good, but they are still I think 1.5-2yrs behind the competition. Not sure what will be of them after they take another beating once Apple/Samsung/everyone else releases their latest and greatest later this year.

I would not say 2 year behind if you look at the specs.
