Anyone order parts from ECS Tuning?
http://www.ecstuning.com/
Prices are good on OEM stuff, but the on-line reviews are not.

I've ordered from them, but like ordering from any American site, you get hosed on shipping, sometimes duty.
Never had a problem with the product. Few years back, they had some online payment problem (somebody hacked them?) and my credit card got charged with random stuff I didn't buy, but that has been fixed since.
Also note, for any online orders not just ECS, ever since CRA raised our daily cross boarder limit, it seems like they always charge duty on any packages coming in... before the limit incease, I rarely got charged duty on sub $500 packages.

Oh ya, if you want cheap shipping but can wait for slower delivery, try http://www.bimmerspecialist.ca/
You gotta pay local taxes however, but no surprise duty or insane shipping costs. Their site isn't that user friendly, but it works.

Thanks for the info.
ECS want $138.00 (total) for side view mirrors.
Bimmerspecialist wants $191.00.
Why are these things so expensive!

You will get raped on anything shipped from ECS to Canada as they use UPS (unless you're willing to pay for UPS Worldship).
I once ordered $90 SS brake lines, I paid roughly $75 in fees to UPS once it arrived. F*ck that noise, never again.

I'll never use them again because of the fee's associated to shipping to Canada.

I was just about to place an order with ECS because they had everything I needed (mix of OEM and aftermarket stuff). But I hadn't gotten to the shipping estimate yet. Are any of the big US vendors better (bimmerworld, turner, etc)?

I also recently placed an order for $160 worth of stuff from ECS and had to pay $60 in additional duties once it arrived! Never again!

In my case it will still be cheaper to pay the duties. They have very good prices on OEM stuff.

I've used them lots of times. I've always checked BMW first, then I'll always check bimmerspecialist, turner and any other online suppliers. Every time I've done the comparison, ECS is always cheaper. Make sure to use the 'Cana-Ease Saver' shipping option. The price you pay and see online is it...no other surprise charges...duties and taxes included. It's not cheap but the final price has been cheaper than anywhere else. The shipping times are reasonable as well.

I always get stuff from them. Usually pricier things. When I ship, I choose the Canada option, it more expensive but you don't get hit with the duties from ups

I just ordered a 140$ worth of products...5lbs total and paid 65$ at the door.
Ended up being the same as part source prices. But...they shipped my products on Wednesday night and I had it on the Friday.

Ecs has low prices but you get ripped off on shipping and duties. Even the ups driver told me they get complaints all the time because Ecs just has to fill out the paperwork properly to eliminate or reduce the duties applied by ups. I called Ecs... Snarky attitude.
I prefer the supporting vendors on max, better service.

If you have not been outside Canada for more then 48 yrs. CRA will charge you customs on anything and everything ... if you got away before, thats cuz the officer was nice enough to let you go, but it seams that most of the time, they wake up on the wrong side of the bed
