Need advice... please read

Hey guys. Okay. So here is my situation. I've got a 94 325is. 220km. Black. 5spd. Fully loaded.


The bad.

Cracked windshield
Won't engage second gear. Every other gear is fine. I dunno
Rust starting to show on rear quarters.
Head liner is shot

Good

Brand new front end
Oem m3 everything
18 inch mpars with brand new rubber.

I don't know what to do. I've had this car sitting on my driveway for 4 months with insurance.

Am I better off fixing?

Selling as is?

Parting?

Or buying another e36 and switching over parts?


Will look for suggestions.

Most of the issues that you stated you can find used parts for a reasonable price and replace them, which may be cheaper then buying another car. As for the rust in the quarter panels it depends on how bad it is. If you decide to part out, I would be interested in the Mpars you have. you can PM me. Hope this helps and good luck.

Fixing. Those problems are nothing (just replace the tranny altogether)

+1 fix.

Replace windshield = $250 (if you shop around)
Replace tranny = $300-500 for a used tranny + install (DIY is not too bad)
Headliner = re-upholster or replace (don't know $$$)
Rust - well, fix or leave - up to you.

As others mentioned, most of the problems are not major, but the rust will be something that you will either have to live with or spend some $$$ to fix. My car has a similar problem with a small amount of rust on rear quarters, and I've been watching it and spraying rust inhibitor until I can justify spending the money on a proper job.

Just fix it buying another car is probably more expensive and might have other problems

Get it fixed up! Tranny is the biggest issue and shouldn't really be that hard to re/re
