Ontario emission testing practices changed?

I took my e38 in for an emissions test and when I got the results back the report format changed. It no longer has emissions performance ratings compared to allowable limits and only says "passed". There's also a section that shows MIL and DTC codes. I've heard of changes coming but I thought that wasn't going to happen until 2014.

The mechanic also says as soon as they see a MIL light lit they fail the test so obviously it's best to clear any MIL lights or DTC codes before getting your car tested.

This came into play around a month ago for bigger shops. They plug in their reader directly into your port when they do the test. Apparently this will read of your o2's and what not work correctly. They even have a dash cam as the test is in progress and a camera on the employee doing the test. This way when the mechanic signs in they can make sure it's only him or her doing the test.
