Need advise on buying a 2007 335i

Hey everyone.

I need some advise on buying a 2007 BMW 335i coupe.

The car that i am looking at has 165000km. it has sports and premium pkg.

The body condition on good. drives good.

Following was changed recently. differential seal and brakes.

The asking price is about 20000.

Is it a price buy? what should be a good price for this car?

Is the mileage an issue. i don't want an expensive repair/maintenance after i get the car. Someone was telling me that the turbos might be an issue at this mileage.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you dont plan on spending $$$ on it, dont even bother! Its an amazing car, but it will cost you! Almost anything that goes wrong will be expensive, so you have to be very dedicated and dont mind paying for it. If i remember, the turbo's might have been done under recall...For a few $$$$ more you can get a car under half the milage, its well worth it IMO.

Wasnt there an issue with the fuel pumps? HPFP...i know a buddy of mine changed his 3 times. Not sure about the year though...

Me and the GF are currently looking to trade our car in for a BMW at a reasonable price. Looking @ 2010 or newer. The HFPF isn't a big sticking issues and the turbo issues aren't a issue as well around the 2010 years I've noticed based on research. You have to bite the bullet and hope for the best. I would get a newer and less km 335i for a few more $$ and see if you can also get extended warranty. Then there is hassle free for a few years you own it.

Be patient searching and you can get a better lower mileage 335, 165000k for $20, i would not pay that price..

Hey guys,

i have another one. 2007 335i with 125km. bmw cpo with 6mon left. premium sport package. active steering and some other options. dinan stage 2 software. new tires ets.
asking 24000.

you opinion would be appreciated again.

That's a better deal. 4k more but you get more car and some months of headache free driving if something does occur.

And after the 6 months of warrantee you will be responsible for turbo repairs$$$$$$$$.

This is true. But if the car was taken care of and maintained properly, it should be a big issue. Turbo's only need to be serviced if issues do arise, but having regular maintenance done keeps problems at bay.

$24k isnt BAD but I would personally swallow hard knowing I was losing roughly $250-$300 a month in resale value alone and have a car in 4-5 years with over 200k and worth roughly $12k.

I would have to really like that car.

Myself I bough a e46 xi with 100k on it, loaded and near mint body for $13k with tax. I have spent $2500 roughly in 4 years on repairs and main. it now has 160k on it and worth roughly $9k.

So in 4 years I have spent $2500 + depreciation of $4k. $6k in 4 years = $125 a month. It isnt a turbo, has 100+ less hp but it is great year round and I am not losing a gaur. $300+ main. a month. Just sayin

All valid points as well. I'm currently searching for a vehicle as well. I'm torn between a 2010+ 135i or 128i (I miss my old e30). The 128i is cheaper, probably has less maintenance issues and overall cost will be less. After owning our Mazdaspeed3 and test driving a 135i, I love the speed and thrust of the turbo engine and in my mind, will be paying for something I ultimately want.

So ask yourself, are you willing to pay for something you think you'll like? Or buy something you know you'll like. Get the 335i you want. Just make sure you find yourself a deal that YOU think is best. Then enjoy the rest!

thanks Guys for the comment i was a little optimistic about this car but it has 3 accident on carproof.

wow...one for 8000 another for 7000 and another for 600. passing on this car. i dont know why bmw dealers except to sell that car for 24000.

the search continues.

as for the turbos. is there a way to know if the car maintained properly pertaining to the turbos. when i drive it what should i look for to know if the turbos are good or not.

The first year, high clicks, I would walk away. Many E90/E92s were on lease as well due to bad economy. Winter is here, why rush...
