Subframe crack
Hello, it was found that there was a hairline subframe crack on my rear right side of my 2004 BMW M3
So i went to Turner Motorsports and bought this....
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-91...ement-kit.aspx
could someone please let me know of a shop that could install these for a reasonable price?
Preferably one closer to Toronto area
thank you

I thought there was a class action against BMW for E46 subframe failures, so they'll fix it for free?

This has been talked about extensively on e46fanatics if you're interested
Shops in the gta, call stance factory in the east end or bimmersport in the west end -- both sponsors here and my recommendation if you're looking

Im not quite sure, but I believe they just put a tar like substance on the crack to fix it

RMP Motors.
RMP did my car and they did about 5000 other cars.
Not that I have anything against Stance Factory but they simply dont have enough experience for me to recommend them for anything more then an oil change.

That's interesting. Just curious if you know exactly how much experience the guys at Stance Factory have? When do you think it will be wise to have them do something other than an oil change?

You should really bring it to someone that has done it many times and can weld properly.
I have seen some pretty hack welds , do your research!

2017, given the fact that they stay in business and acquire customers who dont drive 20 year old cars.
Again, nothing personal about those guys just the lack of experience in some aspects. If one were to look for a shop to do a cheap M50 swap into his 25year old bmw, I'd say go and speak to Jay right away.

I have to agree, experience is key.
Can't go wrong with a shop that builds race cars , to repair and reinforce your subframe.
I saw a clean repair here www.facebook.com/rmpmotors
Only took a few minutes to research and find!

Thank you for every ones input. I called RMP (i have being there couple of times before for my angels and KW coils installation) and they have done the plates before and the price is kind of steep but they have experience.
I bought powerflex bushings to be installed at the same time as well.

I guess you missed the firestorm of an embarrassment that was listed here recently regarding RMP and a PPI.
But you're right, a shop that pumps out factory wired, complex and unique motor swaps clearly doesn't know how to do a simple subframe weld. Ignorance is bliss.
FYI the above was sarcasm, incase you can't detect voice in prose - which wouldn't be surprising given your useless posts in this thread. I love how you repeatedly say "nothing personal," and yet continue to spew childish remarks. Please, grow up.

Mike and Jay can handle this type of job. My dad's car had torn through the metal and they did a great job welding in the m3 reinforcement plates.

Many shops to choose from locally, all do a good job. I personally got mine done at Auto Evolution in Oakville (905)842-8200

Ya I hear stance factory welds amazing, so amazing that the job needs to be redone afterwards.
I will ask my friend if he has the pics of the mess that was made on his e46.
Just like Maple said, experience means a lot..., bolting on parts, and welding are two different things.
