E36 M3 Vert - 5-speed low mileage project
I've had it with projects - two kids and an upcoming career change mean that I probably won't get around to enjoying the car for a long time to come.
Up for sale is a 52k mile, Alpine While on Dove M3. the car is completely rust free, but has been badly keyed on the passenger side. The roof needs trouble shooting - the LED light flashes, but the roof won't go down.
The good:
Rust free, 5-speed car, lightweight flywheel. No 5th gear lean issue
New rotors (brembos) and pads all around, fresh brake fluid
Late E46 330i steering rack and new steering coupling
New OEM Sachs M3 dampers front and rear
New crank and cam position sensors
New battery
New intake boot
New headlights (Glass euro-copies)
Recent radiator (previous owner)
$5500. I'm losing my shirt on this, and am not especially flexible on the price at this time. I'll get some pics up soon.

The roof is indeed closed: it's possible to open and close manually. My cell is: 905-746-3088. Please call after 4pm and before 10pm.
Email: njansenv@gmail.com
I'll try to get pictures within the next day or so.

Note: I'll entertain the idea of trades for an E46 M3 coupe, E39 M5 or...
Obviously with cash flowing one direction or the other.

I'd also consider clean 330i's and any late E39, manual trans only (or SMGII for m3)
Story: career change negates the need for the TDI (I'm working closer to home), so I'm selling the project and commuter to get a nice daily driver that won't need much/any of my time.

I've had a ton of pm's and emails - if I've missed you I'm sorry!
Per my replies, if I was keeping the car I would:
Buy good rubber (the tires will pass safety, but are Exclaim UHP's - not terrible but not terribly good), probably a square setup. (I have non-staggered BBS RC041's that are available to anyone who buys the car)
Redye the front seats
Paint (at least) half the car - maybe the whole thing.
I'd consider the car extremely solid mechanically, and obviously cosmetically challenged. Inspection with a viewer tonight revealed that the passenger side strut tower was likely replaced at some point.
It's a $5500 (or best offer) low mileage M3 - obviously at that price point it's not a garage queen, even if it's never seen winters.

I am very glad I never purchased this car from you for the $5500 I offered before.
Just thought I'd also clarify that this vehicle was originally an automatic. So a manual swap was done at some point. Also be aware, vehicle has a salvage title. When I checked the vin out I also noticed that the odometer has been heavily tampered with.
Don't be stunned by the price, it is pretty obvious no one in their right mind state would sell a easily "$10k" vehicle for $5k, even if it is cosmetically challenged. Specially coming from the OP himself, considering he is very conservative!

You didn't offer me $5500. You offered less than that and I told you to take a hike: perhaps you're still a little hurt that I didn't accept your lowball? If I recall, you told me you didn't have the money, and I told you not to come look at the car until you had the money. You then changed your story to having the money in a day, then a week. Finally, you stated you'd get the money the next day and purchase the car for asking price after wasting my time. You also thought that spinning tires (in the rain) was the transmission slipping - this obviously takes away from your credibility somewhat. If I recall, you were impressed with how it drove. Certainly, the viewers last night were impressed with how strong the car pulled and how well the transmission shifted and how good the clutch felt.
The vehicle is NOT a salvage title, though it was in an accident (as noted). Yes, the car was swapped from an auto. I'm not sure what you mean by very conservative, but perhaps you should go find something else to do. I in NO way have misrepresented the car. I have done business (car and parts sales) with many on the board, and everyone has come away happy with the transaction. I should note that this IS an M3, not a 328i with M3 pretty bits.
I should note that the air conditioning works well!
