help me find a 2dr/4dr convertible!

Hi everyone
Im looking to purchase a 2dr/4dr convertible. something less than $3000 as a daily driver.

Im hoping someone has experience with the following cars. If you have any other suggestions please list a few.

anyhow I am looking at a
2000 SAAb 9-3 Convertible
1995 328 or 318i.
1996-99 eclipse spyder
1995-98 VW cabriolet
2000-02 Sebring convertible

anyone have experience/thoughts on these cars?

they are within my budget and have roughly 170000 miles or 210000 kms.

Please let me know what im getting myself into last thing i want is to purchase a potential money pit.

yeah, look at spending a tonne on repairs with that budget. :-) when has a car NOT been a money pit especially when it is used? a crappy convertible sells for 1500.00 plus. then on top that $ to get it on the road. do your DD before buying a car.

so far I have found a few cars that will be sold safety cert/etested. So repairs/maintenance will be up to date. This will be my second car. Anyone got experience with the two cars below?

The fact that it's certified and e-tested doesn't mean it's free from problems.

I have experience with all of those cars and wouldn't consider anything but the 3-Series and the Eclipse, if only because the others are either boring to drive, trouble-prone, or both.

Do you still have the Miata listed in your user info?

I have a 91 miata now, probably going to convert it to a track car but will be used as an occasional driver when wife isn't with me.

Boring is ok as my miata is my fun car.

I have a 2001 Saab 93 that has 107000 original kms that needs a turbo or a turbo rebuild. Pm if interested
$1000 firm. Need space!

yup, they are the weak point on those saabs. :-)
