Because the 330 is dual VANOS while mine is single.
As for the pistons and rods we want to see the effect the cryo has on stock components. See how much more boost they can handle.

So you're using the 1/2 330 cam because it came from a dual vanos motor? I don't follow since your m50 is single vanos..If you're supercharging then the stock stuff should last, turbo charging don't expect it to last long past ~500ish whp...

I think many people are going to be very surprised at the results of this treatment.
The 330 exhaust cam is set up for VANOS thus won't fit on my non exhaust VANOS engine. Only the intake cam which Is VANOS on both fits.

Not really anything different, there is a guy on bf.c that used the M54B30 cam, he used it because it found it for cheaper than an s52 cam.

No real updates as of yet, having a hard time finding time to work on the car. Will hopefully have the engine out by wednesday.
Anyone know where I can rent a shop crane?
Couple more parts.

Got some work done Sunday. Got the manifold/injectors removed and started labelling and removing hoses and electrical. I think I am going to delete the coolant running to the throttle body so I can use the port on the block for my temp gauge.
Went to CT to pick up a shop crane but the sale was over so I am still searching, preferably to rent, if anyone knows of anything.
Got the day off work tomorrow so if I can find a shop crane the engine should be out tomorrow afternoon.

Hey what an awesome project props on doing something different!
Got a question for ya -- Im planning on running my coolant temp gauge sender in the head too whats the size of that port for the TB heater? I can't find it anywhere and it'll be a few days before I get out to the car to check and I wanted to order my gauges!
hmmm -- I know home depot rents stuff, not sure if they have cranes though. If you're going to be doing more work, I'd suggest buying one @ princess auto or something, they're not that expensive compared to renting

I would love to buy one but I have no room at all to put it anywhere once I am done other then leaving it outside. I am working out of a tiny garage and between my parts plus my buddies Supra and all his parts space is hard to come by. I may rig something to the ceiling.
Thanks I will check them out. And as for the size I did not check. I will look tonight for you when I get home.

Youre better off buying a crane then renting it, princess auto has one for 150ish. Time to make some garage space lol

So engine is ready to be removed. Disconnected everything and removed the head as well. The head is going to be sent to be shaved and possibly a port and polish.
I was surprised how good and healthy everything looked inside. I looked up the crane from princess auto, I will probably go pick that up this week at some point.
Cormier I think the size is 1/8

looks good so far. Considering doing something similar to my m50, where are you getting your head work done?

Aero on this forum has a 3.15 or 3.23 LSD and is looking for a 3.91. He should be getting in touch with you shortly
