I am new here, I came from the VW/Audi world.
I recently picked up a '94 318is. I drove it for a week before parking it in the garage for the winter.
The issue I have to ask about is a leak that is seen at the bell housing. I have researched this as much as possible. The fluid is clear, and looks, and tastes like brake fluid. I don't think it is brake fluid. The fluid comes out when the car is running, and it is very noticeable pooling on the floor. I got under the car, and could not see where the leak was coming from. I pulled out the rubber plug located at the side/bottom of the bell housing. There was some of this fluid in the bottom of the bell housing.
I am thinking it is either transmission fluid? Although I am not sure what manual tranny fluid looks like.
In my research I have found others that have this leak, found it as a faulty Constant Pressure Valve leak on the passenger side of the block. I don't know if this 1.8 has that valve?
I haven't got my bentley manual yet either.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be?
