someone mentioned schrick cams. How much would this end up costing all in. I figure there is there's more than a few hours to replace the cams. Would you need anything else ?Springs ?

abandoned :(
here was the car as it sat in august when I found it.
the passenger fender was shot, the m3 diff in it had the front bolt sheared off, so it was not drivable, the steering knuckle was seized, so the wheel barely turned, the stock 15" were worn, and the majority of the interior was missing.
Price 600$

although it looks like its been horribly abused, it was actually in pretty good shape. I have had e36s in the past and ALL of them had rocker-rot. I did what I could to save them, even had one rebuilt. This puppy is surprisingly solid! all jack points are good and there is/was only minimal surface rust. no rot yet!
up she goes!

Surprised you brought that car back from the dead, looked rough as hell at first. How do you like the z3 steering rack? I've been looking for one.

the rack has not been tested yet... the car is rolling and "driving" now but only up and down the street. from what I can tell the rack reduces the point to point just enough that it will keep my hands on the wheel more when cornering hard/sharp. i got it off of rack doctor for 400$ or so... it was an impulse buy but hopefully worth it.

The trunk is pretty well F-ed. I'm looking for a new one at present. The lip under the rubber wasn't bad at all, very minon rust, my body guy came over and cleaned it right up, apoxy primed it and painted it. Looks good as new.
Its at the body shop now getting a new fender, hood, windshild and paint.

love seeing people saving e36's even though its not an m3 its worth it for the price you paid, IMO the worst thing to change on a non m 3 series is the side mirrors, regular ones look better and are actually useful. besides then your distinguishing that its not an M3(so people dont hassle you over it being a real m3 or not)
also i dont think the s52 would be worth it, depending on what you want to achieve with this car, i'd say get the body together, suspension dialed in and enjoy it and then hunt for a s54 or a lsx/t56 i know these swaps would be alot more, but **** swapping an s52 into a non m, boost the m52 if anything.....

update:
so the paint is done, I now realize that an aftermarket hood was a mistake... flimsy junk, but it'll do for now.
here's where I'm at.
