Aftermarket exhaust for E36 328i sedan
Hey guys,
Just picked up a 328i sedan this past weekend and am new to the BMW scene – wondering what the best route is for exhaust.
I spoke to a guy over the weekend at a drift day at Shannonville (he was drifting an E30 325i with the engine from an E36 325) and he said the best bet was to get a shop to make a custom exhaust setup, basically just a straight pipe all the way down since the stock has a lot of bends.
Wondering if that's a good idea, or if I should buy one from a reputable company, e.g. Eisenman.
I want something that sounds good (and pretty loud), and increases power.

I don't think you can afford Eisenmann, their mufflers alone start at 600$+, try something local, borla/magnaflow/remus

I'd just get a stock M3 exhaust. Sounds better than most of the aftermarket crap aside from a Remus. Seems to generate better dyno results than an aftermarket one too (Dinan) in Doogee's case.

thats not because of magnaflow, thats because the rest of the exhaust isn't done right, u need aftermarket resonators if u run aftermarket mufflers.
IMO the M3 muffler is quieter than stock.

The UUC exhaust is sweet. I don't have one, but I've heard it on a 325i and I think it sounds awesome. The thing with exhausts is that everyone will have their own opinion, and everyone will think their sound is the best. If you are hesitant about spending the money, try to find cars with different systems and listen live.

Remus FTW! Good luck finding one though. Took me 2 years, althought I wasn't actively looking every day, but still took a while.

what's up with the front kidney's? car looks good though.
I would stick with a stock M3 cat back.. you can usually pick one up here for $150-$200.
nice deep tone and no awful back pressure POP sound!
Why on earth would you want something loud.. oh I get it... to race all the Civic's in RH
