E60 looks like Rosie O'Donelle compare to............... everything, except E65 7 series.

Like many here I didnt like the E60 for the longest time (dad has had a E39 since 99 and always loved that look) however it has grown on me over the years and just last week I picked up a 08 535i. Love it, but still love the look of the E39,E38, E36 era cars more.
Crap! Am I getting so old that I am reminiscing about the good old days? *digs a grave and jumps in*

I think they're all pretty nice.
Fitted 'right' & stanced 'right' do not equal 'sloppy cruiser'.

E60 M5's /550i Msports look nice, but blend in too much with everything around them and are found everywhere. Much prefer the F10 body style.

We debated this in the shop today, we concluded e39 is better over all, while the e60 offers things the e39 doesn't it lost in two major areas...looks and feel (drive). At that point who cares what else the e60 offers. And btw we are slowly discovering the e60 has some major (auto) transmission flaws...they can cost anywhere from $1k+ for a simple gasket, fluid, seal etc to $4k+++ for a mechatronic (they LOVE to fail). BMW used a plastic tranny pan and plastic gears in almost assuring a leak or failure...its a head palm moment.
So end of day e39 still ruling the roast over all.
And before anyone mentions M5 etc or hp numbers, top speed or a slalom that wasnt the point entirely nor a trumping day to day factor.
