I like the solution for the starvation issue; I have that problem too. I wonder though... Plumbing the return line into the pot means that the hot fuel returning from the motor would end up being the first fuel picked up and sent to the motor again.

I theorize that's why the return line is plumbed to the opposite side of the tank.

Remember tank fuel is constantly fed into the surge tank as well and there is a return back to tank from the surge tank. I see the change in temp being minute when comparing straight from tank to tank mixed with returning fuel.

Yea that's the whole idea of the 'swirl'. On a proper swirl pot, the return feed into the pot is strategical placed so that it creates the 'swirl' which cycles new fuel to feed the engine.

This is kind of a cheap solution so it is kind of a test to see if it will work. Not sure how well it will perform just yet. We'll find out soon!

Made some progress on getting the motor ready, as well as rad ducting



Built a plate to cover the top section











Then got this beauty!!









Just 4 weeks until the first event! Getting pumped!!

Thanks, same to you! lol it's already got a large dent in the bottom of it from when the car hit the trailer last year though. Ill wait until it start to leak and send it back for a new one!

Some progress made over the last week or so. I was able to get the wing mounted up. I'm really pleased with how solid it is.

Have you thought about any other functional aero? diffuser, under tray, splitter?

Me and a buddy are trying to come up with some designs for mine to help keep it in check at high speeds.

Yea, i'm working on mounting an e36 bumper with a plywood splitter. This season will be a bit of a test to see how the car works with aero. Ive never driven a car with aero, so i'm pretty pumped to see how it feels!

Keep me posted on what you're coming up with, I'd like to work on an undertray/diffuser for next year.

Oh right on, that will be neat. Never seen the e36 used before.

Were going to do a front splitter and rear diffuser at some point this year. I also want to tidy up the front end as it's just a big wind sock right now. The under tray is difficult to do. My exhaust hangs down quite a bit going under the trans brace which is a problem for sure.

I haven't updated in a while so here it is. I got the front splitter/bumper
finished up. Also touched up the fenders and got everything painted.





And the car made it to the track on saturday!







Unfortunately we had quite a bit of rain saturday morning so i couldn't really get a feel for the car. I was able to get one dry session in and then blew a power steering line. At the same time found out my alternator isn't working so my battery had also died.

A bit of work to do to get it ready for next weekend, but nothing major. Pretty excited to see what times it can do on short track at Bogie!

Right on! glad the seasons starting out decently for you. The finished product looks good and it will be effective on the track.

Unfortunately the start to my season has been a bad one. I think I cracked my head yesterday at mosport.
