This doesn't make sense to me anymore. Could it be as simple as bad gas? The plugs are new from August, no oil leaks from the VCG's anymore....
I think I'm going to run some injector cleaner and just drive the piss out of it with different gas from the usual station.

Did you clean the plugs thoroughly AFTER the new coils? because if you didn't, the codes are probably caused by fouled plugs.

Good idea on the fuel injector flush, I had an issue with codes as well (not a BMW)
and changed plugs, wires etc ... but codes remain.. my mechanic did a flush and all codes went away...

Intake manifold leak. I was way off...I sprayed it but apparently not enough.
Another $800. That's my summer tires.

wait wut?
why $800? is it the gaskets or the actual manifold? if its actual manifold, just get a pre-vanos ones used.
Sorry to hear all your trouble man.

I'm not sure what the bill is all about. I haven't itemized it yet. Actually, the car is still at the shop. Should be ready Monday.

Pretty good. Leaks the same as it used to and has a slight miss at 1500RPM, just like before the intake leak...
I hate this car and love it all the same.
Just picked it up on Tuesday. I was out of the country driving a terrible rental Charger. Terrible!
Oddly enough, I picked it up before leaving the country, worked great on the commute to work, driving home it was missing, wouldn't idle, almost like there was a leak again. Brought it back they kept it until I got back and apparently they didnt' do a thing. :headscratcher

they did nothing eh bro, ignorance and ignorance. i know how that feels.
I got my ews programmed and it still is not programmed correctly because i had a certified bmw mech come by gave him some cash plugged in his computer and the ews is still scrambled because the battery does not want to hold a charge and so forth. I rather not give out the name of the shop because they have a reputation that they want to keep and money to make to feed there family.
Get the seal replaced on the intake manifold!
and valve covers so it doesnt leak, very simple!

Done and done. I did VCG's, upper timing covers, plugs, MAF, VANOS solenoid seals. Shop did the intake and CCV while the mani was off.
Meh, I'm just going to enjoy it with the radio turned up. I should install that sub I've had lying around for years now...

I've just finally got all my issues sorted out with mine, I had a miss under 1800 rpm or under heavy load at any rpm accept when at WOT. (no check engine at all) Turns out one precat was melted, got the cat situation sorted, was still missing. pulled injectors and cleaned with shit I have for cleanin carbs at work called powertune, put all back together than noticed on the back of the intake manifold theres a vac line with a yellow clip, and it was on but by like an eighth of an inch, I touched it and it fell off. Plugged it back in, clamped it. Went to start it and intercoursed my starter. Had my brother bump start me lastnight to see if I fixed my issue, and my car has no miss, and finally idles where its supposed to. Now I go replace starter lol fun friday night.
