Some dealerships won't cover the rust issue, some say they will (but it depends as they state it, after an inspection for $175, I can inspect it right in front of their face and show them...look! it's a rust bubble. It's not rocket science)..
I'm still in talks with numerous dealerships as there is no consistency with this policy. The search continues.
Two things; A. This is Canada, and with the salt we get in the GTA they rust a lot! (bad materials might have something to do with it, as i have seen corrosion on 2 year old M3's...)
B. (and the most likely reason) Previous bodywork. A respray will never last like OEM, so even a scratch that was fixed will make it prone to rust.
Its no biggie, most " newer " bimmers, e36 and up years rust in relatively the same spots eventually. Corner of rear lights, middle of trunk latch, back corners and bottoms of doors, nothing new. As mentioned it is likely a fix will last but 2-3 years before you see it again.
