yeah, running two ECU's to monitor a half motor each. Glad BMW gave up on that idea quickly (enough)

Wow..amazing! Never knew BMW made a v16! They were smart to not put it into production, no trunkspace on a 7 = failure!

Intakes for cool are nasty looking and out of place on a 7, although it's understood the car was just a test bed for what they could do.

They actually used that in the e32 750's with the M70's. Not sure if they did that in the early 850's but they most likely did.

Pretty sure you're right. One ecu running each bank of cylinders.

Fuel economy, really? This is what you guys are stuck on?
Max kills me sometimes.
This car wouldn't be built for people who worried about fuel economy. Seeing how the 750iL was probably somewhere around 80K US back in the 90's, this car would have definitely passed the 100k mark. The few people who would have bought this car wouldn't have given a damn about fuel consumption (not that 24L/100 is terrible either for such an engine).
On a more valid note, this thing is surreal, I can't even imagine what that would have pushed MB to do to try and win the war on luxury and power executive sedans.
Seeing how I have a huge soft spot for 750's in general (esp. e32 and e38), I can't even imagine how bad and crazy I would want this 767iL if it existed.
I have yet to drive a V12 BMW, but I've started and revved one, and OMG, it is surreal. It sounds completely different than most all I've heard before, and the craft manship and options are crazy.
Damn, I want a 750 now.

Unfortunately, it isn't as impressive as it is on paper. I am super disappointed with the sounds the V12s make, just sounds like a lazy muted 6.
I wish I could hear a 'built' M70 one day... headers, cams, lots of compression, super light flywheel
