So it looks like it's around $8500 damage.

Sounds like a write off, but i think the insurance company will let it be repaired because the actually damage from the accident was around $6000.

So the second claim for the damage done by Stoney creek collision will be dealth with through court.

Looks like I'll be getting the car back all nice and newish.

Wow, thats really surprising. I was expecting a write-off for sure. Private and dealer prices for e36's are in the gutter so I'm surprised they would decide to repair it.

Subscribe to CAA ... If you are "physically" ok after an accident ensure (you have the right) to have a CAA truck tow the vehicle to a destination of your choice. You can even have the damn thing taken home if you want.

100% agree with this... take the car home, give yourself a day and get yourself together. Most of the times when you take a car to a body shop they know its free money coming in. Research first before you EVER let some random shop touch your car. Also don't trust insurnace companies recomendations.

Always tow your car to a place you know.

A) Your own body shop (If you already have that relationship)
B) Home
C) Dealer
E) CarStar... they seem pretty good, and have nationwide locations.

Never ever let it go to a towing yard.
You won't get access to the car, and they charge you an arm and a leg.

Never go to the bodyshop of the guy that hit you. Never do it.

Just hold onto CAA guys....it saves you from the hassle. You can get the car towed to your home while you and the insurance company figure out what you guys want to do.

Never trust these ambulance chasers running around in the GTA.

Car is being fixed at European autobody. $8000 total damage.

Supposed to get it back in 3.5 weeks.

Two separate claims. $5500 for the accident and $2500 for the vandalism.

They are suing for the second claim.

So really they only based it off the actual damage from the accident.
