Windsor Firefit, August 21, 2010.

Firefighters from 8 Wing Trenton, and CFB Petawawa compete in the individual even.

This is the Hose Hoist. Competitors must Pull a roll of hose weighing 45lbs from the ground to the top of a 6 story tower. While hoisting the hose, the competitor can not stand on anything other than the platform itself. The competitor mus lift the roll of hose over the railing, which has a lip, and place the roll in a basket. The hose must stay in or on the basket.

What exactly are you making the vid out of? Pictures, video clips?

I use Picasa 3 to put my pictures, and video clips together, and make a slide show or movie. It's free. Just google "picasa 3".

Windsor Firefit, August 21, 2010.

Here a Firefighter from Chatham-Kent Fire Service uses a sledge hammer to complete the Forcible Entry portion of the competition.

This part of the evolution use a "Keiser Force Machine" (a chopping simulator). Using a 9lbs shot mallet, must drive a 165lbs steel beam a horizontal distance of 5'. Only striking the beam with the hammer will complete this section.

Thanks its a Specialized Globe Roll 1. I love it, its so nible. Riding fixed is definitely an experience, Its so addicting too.

They travel from region to region. The challenge is going to be in Brampton September 2-5. This may be inaccurate as far as the dates go. If your interested, I would google Brampton Firefit 2010, and see if a news paper web site or something has the date and times listed.

It's a competition called "Firefit". Used to be called the Firefighter Combat Challenge. The Brampton Comp that is coming up is the Finals, so if your interested I would go.

I recommend going to see the Firefit competition to anyone, wheather your into it or not. It's really interesting to see the men and women do something so hard.
