whining noise coming from engine at low rpm

today after driving to work, noticed a whining noise coming from the engine bay. i have no clue what is happening, any input?

Mine did that for about a week until the pulley on the automatic belt tensioner exploded. Luckily, I was 1 block from home and I kinda of limped home (otherwise, I would have needed a tow). It also sucks that BMW no longer stocks my pulley, only a complete belt tensioner update (to a hydraulic tensioner from spring)

well i changed the belts and it fixed it. but my power steering rack went so thats a nice way to spend a g
