Actually, it's Roy Wiklund's car with an s14 2.5 AC Schnitzer engine.

Doh! Thats right, my mistake. I remember showing that car to everyone here one day at the shop because I was in awe of all the stuff that was retrofitted onto the car, like the steering rack swap, e30 rear suspension, work of art exhaust system, etc etc... Really well put together car.

Got the new diffy installed today... got it from a 320 w/LSD, swapped the rear covers and lifted it in to see how everything mounts up with all the solid bushings. Went right in, looks minty.

Will take it out later down the road after the car is running and I know everything is copacetic and put a hose on the breather on the cover so it won't spit anything out.

Got a few updates since.

Worked on the donor 2.0L over the summer. Pretty much threw all the 318 FI parts onto the 02 block, while throwing in some new gaskets and such. Blocked off the fuel pump port. Painted the valve cover and put some newly plated bolts on here and there.

Worked on the front frame rails which were a bit of an issue previously. So far they are only half finished, but we got the base pieces welded in. Still have to make the bottom of the rad support and clean it up so everything looks finished.

Did a bit of fitting the bodywork. Ran into a small snag. The replica Turbo front spoiler I got (which is the same one sold on the bmw2002faq.com) has a bit of an issue lining up with the front fender flares. So far I left it, but I will attend to it later, definitely before the car gets painted.

This is how the car sits as of current. Got the spring sizes picked, just need to buy shocks, and the main of the suspension is more less sorted.

And one wheel test fitment teaser. I am satisfied with the offset, although I may have to space it out 5-10mm. Waiting until I get some longer studs, then I will mount the wheels on all four corners.

Last week got the 318 5spd transmission cleaned up, ready to bolt it on the motor to mock up the driveline, so we can make some mounting points for the transmission support bracket. That should happen I hope within the next two weeks, as school now bites back into my schedule.

One more piece to the puzzle. 320 halfshafts. Time for a rebuild.
