Just cruising on youtube, found some videos that had some decent sound of the car. Courtesy of Dr.Flyview. Thanks Flav!

It's been awhile since the last update... The car hasn't really turned a wheel since then either except rolling around the shop. I haven't been able to accomplish much as throughout the summer I've been travelling around to different racetracks on the weekends... thus leaving me without much or any time to get something done on this car. In addition... my priorities are starting to shift... so I need to get this car finished asap so at least it's driveable, reliable, and most of all, safe!

On the safety note, I started to get cracking on the rollcage... Decided on a bolt-in cage for ease of welding, although it is pretty time consuming to build extra sets of base plates and such.

The car rolled outside for the start of the cage. Removed the seat and whatever else...

Then I got the idea to see how the old Autopower roll bar fit in the car (that originally came with the shell) and boy was I disappointed! You could fit an elephant through the gap to the B pillar!

After a bit of chopping and bending, we end up with a main hoop that fits MUCH better!!

Fabbed up some base plates for the rear part of the cage

Eventually, base plates welded in, and a few more bars in the main structure

And this is how the main structure currently looks... Nice shape, and good tight fit to the car. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to start on the front section of the cage and start to wrap it up!

What else have I done for progress... I painted the exhaust with heat paint. Curious to see how long that will last. At least its not the ugly shade of rust brown for now. Strangely, I don't have a picture of that!

Also had the Dad put the camber plates back on the milling machine to chop out some much needed space for my tall Koni shocks. Finally, CAMBER!

And now the front matches the rear for camber. I am happy... although the need for the new spacers is readily apparent now.

Forgot to mention I also put a bit of that edge trim jazz on the spoiler, so thats why it seems to have more presence now. I still need to build up the corners with fiberglass so it matches the fender opening...

Richard hooked up a new trunk recently, and I got to work chopping it out. It has since been painted and now installed on the car. The Beach Auto trunk is probably going to chill out on Richards 'Beach wall' in his garage. We'll figure out what to do with it one day.

Good update, been wondering what's been going on w/ this car.

As for the camber plates, are they custom made plates? Or are did you just have some milling done on aftermarket camber plates?

Hey dude, thanks! Hopefully I can finish it up so I can at least drive it once or twice more before seasons end!

The camber plates are custom made (there's a post elsewhere in the thread with more pics of them), however they were made with Bilsteins in mind. The Konis I chose to run are much taller for the adjuster knob... and it created a problem with the top plates, so I had those machined out (towards the inside of the car) so it wouldn't hit and break off.

Wheel offset is 25, thats on an 8" wide wheel. I have a thread in the canadian wheels fs section on vortex... and put a pretty optimistic price. Clearly I'm negotiable

Thanks Robb, yeah I love them, but there's two problems. One is mounting tires on these, they aren't the friendliest of rims with that honkin' lip... and two it would be preferable to have a rim thats easily replaceable, even if its shittier quality. Because then you can just damage them and throw them away and not care. These are too nice to bang around IMO.

On another note, I am picking up the burgundy vinyl for the car tomorrow!!
