Haha, smokes! Definitely. Some of those I had in mind, and also Eddie suggested lots via email. The Solex one I can't run though, since this car doesn't even have a carb... but maybe on the next 02 I build... Or that might probably have Webers...

There's your wheel manufacturers as well... BBS obviously, Remotec, Centra, Epsilon, Hardy & Beck(by BBS I think), ATS, Gotti, Ronal/ACT. It's up to you what you feel is most time period correct. **Can Eddie just give me his car?**

I have BBS made up from a previous project (had to restore stickers on Dads cars) but ATS is another I plan to have in the future. Not sure if I will do the others, as they either weren't in demand so to speak, and/or weren't used as racing wheels. I'd like to keep the car making sense (ie BBS stickers on BBS wheeled car)... Bosch I'll definitely use.. ATE I'll use, if I can recycle some ATE front E30 calipers. Umm... what else... Bilstein I'll use for now, but I plan to run Konis when the car is sorted.
Speaking of JPS from your last post, it jogged my memory of my idea for one of the cars at the shop. There is a Black E24 with euro bumpers and stuff that will be parted in the near future... would be a perfect candidate for a JPS liveried car ala Jim Richards early 80s Austrailian Touring Car...

I think you should put some Epsilon stickers on the car by accident, and then you will be forced to insall a set of custom 3pc Epsilon mesh wheels so that the sticker doesn't look out of place Just sayin.
I know the car you're speaking of.... probably the tackiest e24 I've ever seen, haha!

saw some "Ferodo" brake pad stickers on one of the '02 pics. Saw more of the same on various E12 race cars pics too.

Since you'll be racing the car, keep the spare doors and trunk you have.
You never know what could happen. I'm sure parts will get harder and more expensive to buy.

^ Aha. Right on... well, I'm using a Bosch pump, so I won't be using that! I guess I could make it anyways...
Got some odds and ends done this evening. I bought some stainless hardware when I was in town yesterday, so I finished up my fenders. Some edge trim, and fancy screws do so much for appearance!
On the ground
Nice
Nice
Not nice? Stupid roll ran out halfway through the last flare. Grrrrrr... gonna have to buy some more later. Not a big deal, since this fender and flare isn't painted anyways.
Richard came by and brought some rear interior cards for me. I had to glue the bottoms down with upholstery glue... Turned out alright. I might have plans for these in the future. We'll see how things go with the car first.
After installing these, I started to wonder what happened to the original panels from this car... Hmm, gonna have to do some digging around in storage.

Been a long time since I have seen flares installed on a car they were meant to go on and not just hacked on there.

Went out to buy some material and odds and ends for the car this week. Brake lines for the rear are in the mail (I hope).
Grip tape (thin roll) on sale at princess auto for 2$. Saaawwwhheeeeeet.
This door pull was on the blue door already when I found it, so I put it back on for the heck of it.
Here is some of the material I got
Started to work on the rear shelf. The fuel cell must be sealed off from the passenger compartment as per rulebook, so a simple cover to cover the gaudy speaker holes was needed. And yes, I had to pull the back window
My template for the shelf
So since we don't have a huge metal brake, I had to do things a more ghettoish way. I ended up clamping the metal down to one of the benches and used a body vise grip to bend the edge that I needed. While it wasn't perfect, and needed a lot of hammering to make it sort of straight, it turned out alright. Here it is all cut out, with a shot of paint on the edge to see how good (bad) it looked. It was acceptable.
Drilled a few holes and dropped in some bolts
All painted and installed
Gonna pop the window back in on Friday when Richard comes by to help out.
