Just a short run through twynn rivers testing out the new gopro hero2. Sorry for the wind noise. I didn't expect it to pick up that much especially at such low speeds. I'm going to look into an external mic and maybe shoot an in-car video tonight.
I shot from inside the car tonight. This thing pulled pretty damn hard uphill... 3rd-4th gear. I just updated the firmware on the GoPro as well so future videos will have MUCH better quality!
I'm sure the car is still 50/50. The weight difference of the s54 is negligible and since most of the engine sits behind the front axle you probably won't feel much of a difference. You also shed some weight by getting rid of the secondary air pump, traction control, fuel return lines etc.. it may have even shed some weight.

btw curious if you know what the balance of the car is now, was that affected?
The videos don't do the engine any justice. The sound is unreal when it winds up to 8k. I think it will sound great with an AA exhaust I'm also going to pick up a 3.91 diff and try it out. The 3.23 is a great compromise for street drivability and speed but I want to experience the insane torque curve and a will 3.91 really make the engine shine. This thing is just too much fun lol.
Even with the 5spd, the 3.91 is awesome on the street. I drove my e36 325i with the 3.91 for 3 years before it became a track car. the RPM was a high on the highway, but at least you didn't have to downshift to pass
I kept the 5 speed but I might put the 6 speed in. The 3.91 will force me to do the speed limit. Doing 100 on the highway it will be at 3200 rpm which isn't that bad.. Unfortunately E36's are pretty much limited to 3.23, 3.38, and 3.91 unless you want to spend some money and go custom with diffsonline.. A 3.73 would be perfect I think (damn you e30 guys!)
