I expected entertainment from the thread posted in the wrong forum by a user who managed to misspell 'Toronto' *in his username* and I haven't really been let down.
I finally moved away from Toronto to the North and was looking forward to cheap insurance... Unfortunately since insurance is public in Manitoba I pay the same rates living up here where some days I don't see another car for hours on the road as I would if I lived in Winnipeg... which I believe is the car theft capital of Canada. Sigh.

Guys leave him alone maybe he can't speak English well, I didn't know one of the rules of the forum is having exquisite English skills. You can understand the point he is trying to get across.

Buy a winter beater you can insure as 1st car, the cheaper the better, and then put the bimmer under classic car insurance (under $200/year!) at its 20+ years old!

Phil, which comepany does the classic car thing? mine doesn't do it. I wouldn't mind paying 200$ a year for my M5.

Lots of them do as far as i know, havent checked yet with mine...but i will by summer for my Mk2 Jetta. Some are after 20, and some after 25. After 30 (i think) you can also put it as Vintage (or Historic) and cost goes down even more. My friend is paying about $150/year for his 628csi...

My insurance went up 40$ a month after getting a quote that it would be cheaper.. not to mention, no new tickets or anything. Only went up in age. Can't wait for next year when the renewal will finally say 25... gezzz...

turning 25 saved me also 50% on my insurance (since most companies do not let people under 25 insure cars as recreational vehicles, and i dont drive to school/work, there was greater than average savings)
