E36 320 OBD1 Harness

Does anybody here know if I can swap a Siemens ms40.1 DME to a Bosch red label 413 DME using the Siemens harness from my 320 coupe [non-EWS]

I want to install a M52b28 engine I have lying around [ unfortunately it's OBDii and EWSii ]

Or could the Siemens ms40.1 be remapped to the larger engine?

My car is a RHD coupe ,the DME is on the LH side firewall so I can't use a BOSCH 413 harness [ from a USA care ]
I'm told all vanos [Non Nth American e36's use a Siemens DME ]

Any knowledgable answers would be appreciated

Hey Thanks for that
My Car is Non-EWS ,and I would prefer to keep it that way.
Because the 2.8 uses basically a 2.0 intake, I was just going to swap everthing over and use the larger 2.8 throttle body and Airflow Meter.
Can the Siemens unit measure the correct amount of Air [ slower airspeed because of larger diameter MAF ]
All I'm after is a lot more torque & approx 25% more power [ standard 2.8 behavoir ] So if my little coupe drives as good as a stock 328 I'd be happy [ I have a race-car for venting frustations ,not the street ]
incidentally here in NZ we have no "smog laws" and 98 octane pump gas [ our modification laws are fairly liberal as well ]
All the best ...Kerry
