Brake swap question

Anyone know if there is any reason why the rear brakes from an MZ3 will not fit on a '97 E36? I know the fronts are the same for the M3 the rears seem to have the same caliper carriers and rotors, So with the M3 hub it should mount into the same spot. However I dont see BMW using a different caliper on the MZ3 if the rear M3 caliper would have worked.

I know the Z3 uses the E30 rear end, does the MZ3 caliper somehow interfere with the E36 rear end?
