2017 BMW i3 purchase

hi! Is there anyone purchased an i3 who can share their purchase price with me? I am going to order a base model without extender and would like to get an idea what kind of discount I can reasonably negotiate with the dealer. I remember long time ago when I purchase my 3 series, dealers were all unable to give more than a 2% discount of MSRP.

Thanks and happy holidays everyone!!!

Well depends on why he is buying, I believe the i3 is still one of if not the most fuel efficient Does it have the utility you would desire in a daily, depends. Maybe he just wants a vehicle for around town or short trips. Now in saying that does the cost to maintain and years of ownership required to recover the initial cost add up, maybe. If he has the funds to give it a go all the power to him.

As far as what % off MSRP, gosh no idea. Id literally just shop around the same car to several dealers and see what the results are.

Because it's practical? For less than $3 you can go 200km. If you get the range extender you can go close to 320km.

If you're just commuting it makes sense. To each their own, but people need to face the fact that everything is going electric. Next year BMW is stopping diesel production and replacing everything with PHEV in preparation for the inevitable EV era.

And it does 0-60 faster then a 850i.

You could say the same about half the BMW lineup (X4, X6, GT's, etc)

Just half lol

You mean I don't need an X6 M version! But how would my wife get our 3 yr old to soccer?

I would figure 75% of the lineup or more is stupidity but stupidity sells apparently. Give me that bigger shiny useless thing because my neighbor has one and its expensive is what all real car guys/gals say

Probably, so does a 2016 Corolla, I am sure.
Does it sound/look/present the same as an e31 though?

Yeah. It sounds like a space ship. And has working A/C.

Presumptuous of you to say e31's don't have working A/C, but alas, I can tell when someone is trolling. "I'm Out"

Oh! Why is an i3 a POS? Please share. Perhaps I am missing something. I get an impression that it is a great EV.

The early i3's had lots of reliability problems. There was an article calling it the least reliable EV on the market. I can't remember where that was. The newer ones are about the same as all the other EV's. Iit should not be a concern if you are buying a newer one.

Here is an article from GRM so it is written by someone with a gearhead view of the world...
