error 0340 - 318



my 97 is throwing a cps code .. im new to bmw's and was wondering where the cps is ... is there a fsm or something that i can download

CPS? Camshaft position sensor....sounds like it.

It is a sensor located on the cyl head. Get it diagnosed to be sure, but thats what the CPS most likely refer to. Unless it is crankshaft position sensor. Both are physical items on the engine that would be replaced (or could be futher).
