Question Facelift Headlight Glass/Cover

Hey guys, both my headlights have defined cracks on them.
I was considering baking them to install AEs, while I'm at it I was
thinking of replacing the glass or plastic covers that are damaged.

Anyone know a good place to look for these parts?

Thank you

** forgot to mention it's an 05 330ci, so facelifted coupe.

Eeeps... facelifted coupes I believe the whole housing is glued together. Which will requires you to bake the headlights in your oven at 300 degree fahrenheit to disassemble it.

Now I don't know the idea of baking your headlights to get everything apart... but I sure don't like it and I can't say that all ovens are the same. So if you set it at 300 but you may have some hot spots in your oven and this can cause your headlights to melt, warp, etc...

The best way to go is replace the whole system itself with DEPO headlights.

Hope that helps...

I know of the baking process, don't really have a problem with it I heard 250 degrees f works.

The point is, I have the adaptive Xenon systems, I would really hate to downgrade to depos.

Has anyone heard of replacement lenses, cause ive found many for the pre facelift but not for 04+

Well you can always get the DEPO ones and then retrofit OEM lens into the DEPO ones. But as far as I know I don't think any vendors sell JUST the replacement lens for the Coupes.

BMW do not sell seperate lenses, you would have to purchase the whole assembly from them. So your best bet if you don't want to buy the whole assembly from the dealer, is just look for a used set that are in good condition.

Yea sedan's are different from the coupe's headlights. You can pick them up for the pre facelift coupe/sedan but for the facelift it's only the sedan.

You can always use a heat gun and take your time pulling apart the headlight! You can buy heat guns are Hobby shops that sell model airplanes and R/C Cars.

any good news on replacement headlight lenses?

Are DEPO the only people that make headlight assemblies with the LED Angel Eyes already built in?

It sucks us Facelifted coupe guys are forced to buy new headlights unlike the other guys whom can just replace the lenses!

I have a 2004 330Xi. The headlight covers are EASILY removable. They are not head sealed as previous models (no baking required). Remove the clips and the covers come off quite easily.... I know, I've installed Angel Eyes and painted the inserts..... You can get the parts locally @ http://www.************/product.htm?veh=46&item=HLL Not sure if they are the best price; but they are local. Looked around via the web and it looks like a decent price....

Enjoy

Headlight Covers e46 Facelift.

See my Angel Eyes Installation pic...... Rubber seal. No issues with leaks after re-installing the headlight covers.

^ thanks for the input guys, but i was reffering to the coupe facelift, which is sealed and needs baking, I'd have no problem baking them but I was looking for replacement lenses/covers as mine are cracked.
