lock help

hey guys i removed my trunk lock to get repaired on my 95 318ti. After installing the repaired cylinder the automatic locking mechanism is not working properly??? Normally locking one door or the trunk would automatically lock all of the doors/trunk, now this does not happen properly. When i try to lock the car only the one cylinder engages that I physically lock, the rest dont do anything. Not sure if there is a way to reset the cycle or if anyone has any other suggestions towards this problem... Help is appreciated thnks

yeah you can reset it / adjust it.
your trunk lock has 3 positions... you will have to fiddle with the key to figure out which position locks it with the rest of the car. one position keeps it locked at all times without the key...

You have moved the truck lock into the locked position. Normally the trunk is closed, but not locked, so that it can be opened via the trunk release.

There are two reasons your keys are not opening the trunk. Either you are not turning the key all the way to the unlatched position (it should click twice), or you are using a valet key. A valet key will only work in the ignition and door latches, but not the trunk. Valet keys usually are missing the black rubber top, showing all metal.
