1994 E36 convertible resister help

Hi guys/girls
I just picked up a 1994 e36 convertible 325. It is having heater issues, the motor is not blowing. I have done some research and I have read that most people have issues with the blower motor regulator and/or the blower motor. I?m going to change the regulator first then if I still have issues, I will get the motor?.
I?m trying to locate the regulator and cannot find it. I read that it should be close to the paddle and I just can locate it.

I was told this is the regulator looks like, but I can?t locate it?. please let me know if you know anything I don?t about the location of the regulator.

Is this the regulator? (picture of my car) I read that his is the resistor?.

You might try searching for a how-to using the terms "final stage resistor" or "final stage unit resistor". It's a common failure on this era of car and there are lots of discussion about diagnosing this part it that are already up on several forums.

This same part in my 2000 E39 just failed and I swapped another in last evening. It's a 10-minute quick job once you locate it. I haven't had the issue on my E36 though to comment on it specifically.
