2 Series Emblems Falling Off / Missing

So after having my car for two months and numerous (touchless) car washes, my rear emblem went missing yesterday. At first I was pretty upset and thought someone may have taken it, but after looking at the area carefully I noticed there was no tampering or scratches. Plus, I always park in my private garage and secured underground parking at work and hadn't been anywhere else that day.

Long story short, went to Maranello BMW today and the service person said it's a known issue for the rear emblems in the 2 series to come 'loose' from factory which may cause them to fall off / go missing. So for anyone this happens to, don't fret, just take a drive down to the dealership and hopefully they'll take care of you there.

The car is desperately trying to shed it's poseur M badges.

Lol j/k. That's a very odd issue to have. Sounds like poor adhesive application and/or quality.

Haha hope nothing else falls off
They said the issue lays in the two rubber sockets that don't hold the emblem tight enough. No adhesives involved - just the two pegs on the underside of the emblem need to be held in place. So they provided replacement sockets that are supposed to hold it better.

Maybe it's a sign to just hand wash...
