Back into the BMW scene
Well it's been quite awhile since I last posted anything (mostly likely 2+ years). Just been browsing and seeing how everyone's been doing. As of yesterday, me and the girlfriend owned a 2010 Mazdaspeed3. Now we jumped into a 2011 BMW 135i. It's fun to drive, but a bit scary due to the wet conditions and such so mostly been driving like grandma. Can't wait for spring to come so I can start attending some cruises. Here's some details about the new ride.
2011 BMW 135i
28,000km
Alpine White
Coral Red Interior
7-Speed Double Clutch Transmission
M package
Tech package
Executive package
Pretty much all options you can think of.
Photos are with winter tire package as the temps have dropped so no point having the M rims with summers on.

Welcome back and congrats! That's one helluva way to jump back in the game. Any mods planned?

Thanks. As of right now, not really. Been doing some research and thinking come spring/summer getting BMS CAI and maybe a set of rims (maybe some Vorsteiners since I <3 them) and see Jay at stancefactory about some coilovers or something to stance it. At the moment I'm just having fun. I do need some exhaust mods though. Thinking AR downpipes with stock mids and maybe a Berk muffler. I was also looking into the carbon fiber defuser and interior trim. I don't think I can do the JB4 for quite some time because already there is a huge difference between the MS3 and the 135iM. Once I get used to the power I think i'll dive into the JB4 so the car is fun once again.

Welcome back! Sounds like you have some decent plans for it.
How are you liking the DCT so far?

Yeah, I like the stock look with some tasteful mods. Don't like those guys with huge wings and aero splinters. Kind of useless for street use.
The DCT is actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Driving stick for 4 years then going to DCT wasn't terrible. I like the fact that you can just hit the paddle and go down a gear or up whenever and it will go back to auto. You can go into manual mode and it will stay in manual unless you switch it back so you could red line it if you wanted. It's a lazy mans manual for sure ahaha. I still want to grab the shifter at times and also try to use the none existent clutch lol. Some time for adjustment there but overall, the shifts are fast and you have more control since you can have two hands on the wheel at once. I think come summer I'll have a better idea but at the moment I have no issues with it. The 7 speed though is a lot of gears.

The downpipes paired with a stock exhaust sounds great if you want to stay subtle. That's what I have on my N54 as well, and I love it. No drone and great for daily driving.

I believe since mines a 2011 I have the N55, but the build date is Sept 2010. So it could be the N54. I just want a little more growl and some rasp in the higher revs but nothing too loud. At the current moment it only growls under heavy load. Slowly but surely I'll get mods here and there.

Ah yes, my mistake. Yours is a N55. Similar concept though, those downpipes will give her some extra bark

Which downpipes do you use? AR downpipes are kinda pricey but if they are a good make then it should be worth the $$. Also looking at upgrading the angel eyes. Stupid yellow hue sucks. Would love to get a nice crisp white LED.

The VRSF downpipes are the best bang for the buck. Not worth spending 2-3x for AR, in my opinion.

Yep, I was checking them out since the cost is considerably cheaper. I think it will be on my x-mas list near the top.
