I was going to go with that kit, but decided against it because most reviews stated that there were no performance gains and that it was too low. Some said the ride was possibly softer than BMW's Sport suspension. When it first came out, their ad campaign was stock ride with the lowered height.

If you don't want to go the coilover route, I vote for H&R and Bilstein combo. Eibach and Koni also make a nice combo. Most have gone the H&R way. For coilovers, Bilstein PSS and PSS9, H&R, Koni, Ground Control, FK, and KW. You will most likely need to use spacers for the bilstein coilover setup.

i have the h&r cup kit, it feels pretty stock i lov the ride but i want it to be lower, dispite the fact everyone else says its too low. acctually the rear is ok but the front i want to be lower. i expected the car to be lower from what every one told me.
if i went back to choose a suspention, i might have gone with coil overs, just from a ride higgt stand point.
i posted some pics of my car on the rides section, i can post some if you want to show you the actually hight.

to be honest i dont know, i have never drive an M car or a car with the M suspention. like i said it definatly better than the sport suspention that i had, but of course the M suspention is superior to that.
i think that the h&r cup is the best shock and spring combo, i have heard bad things when it comes to mixing companies esspecially some thing like a eibach and bilstien combo.
I, myself was not really looking at suspention so that i could track my car, i just wanted to go as low as i could before getting coilovers, and a better than stock handling.
if you are looking for serious suspention then i would look at some thing else, b/c i still have a lot of body roll when i corner.

although ive never been in a BMW with H&R i have been in a dub, it`s stiff, but no too much, the dampers are great. They lasted my friend almost 2years so far. Up and down for winter etc etc.

PSS 9's, i swear by em!
i've drivin cars with the KW's, they're OK, but if you REALLY wanna get your money's worth, go BILSTEINS, and depending on how you use your car, get the right ones ( i track my car from time to time, so the adjustable shocks is a real plus for me) If you just want the adjustable height go with the PSS, and i have had no problems with the rims i run on my car for summer/winter in regards to spacers, but i have run into that problem with a few sets of rims!

I have the H&R cup kit on my 88 e30 and I love its its almost too low for me though... 2.1 drop in the front and something like 1.9 in the rear...
they definitly don't feel as soft as the stock supension was.... its got a pleasant ride no kidney ruptures (like with my friends WRX on Tein flex's)
