Wow, forgot about this thread. Yeah, I dumped the car.

The day I traded it in, it blew a cat. Literally exploded the sucker wide open. Sounded like a truck.

I think the screwed up cat is related to the intake leak.

Good on ya Mr. Bimmer. Hopefully that's the last of the issues for a while.

What did you get in return?

I couldn't deal with the knock so I put in a new engine

Uber reliable 2011 Civic SE. The cheapest thing I could find with a sunroof and a manual tranny.

Yeah, the car was just on it's way out for serious maintenance. The motor knocking (VANOS?) and the hard shifts to 4th were just signs of something much worse to come. I couldn't deal with risk of an unreliable car anymore. If it was just me, maybe but with the kids? Not a chance...

It's okay though, I'm saving up for an M Coupe next year.

Ohl I've been following your build. Sounds awesome!

take out the vent valve back of intake guarantee thats your problem check condition of the rubber boots those r very common and cause all the symptoms you have crankcase breather .
