Kinda cool to do a comemerative car to celebrate winning, just wish it was more then paint and stickers, Drop an extra 100hp/100ftpdt and say full ceramic brakes and that would be a true car to celebrate with

+1. So tired of these laughable editions BMW keeps pumping out. All cheap cosmetic garbage with absolutely zero performance mods.

Do you even realize how much money and research would go into developing and engine like this? Do you realize that after developing that engine they would have to federalize a whole new model. Doing all the government tests?
Those car would be so expensive, no one would buy them.
Sure they are ramping up special editions with the E9x M3s, but the "performerless" special editions are nothing new.

were not talking about re-inventing the wheel here
look at some older models
E36 M3 ... M3 Evo
E46 M3 ... M3 CSL
you want to explain the millions that went into those that no one can afford?

To be fair, none of those models were sold in the North American market

There is no E36 M3 Evo. S50B32 powered M3 was called Evolution in the UK market, but it was just a regular mass produced M3.
If you are talking about E30 M3 Sport Evo, that is a homologation special. BMW had to make them no matter how unprofitable those cars were to them.
For this generation BMW also made E92 M3 GTS and E90 M3 CRT, so we don't really have to look at the old models. They are still doing the same thing they did for the last 25 years.

Who cares about what it would cost, plus they have a whole product line of modified parts to upgrade your m3, put them on the special edition, You don't win a race championship with a stock car, why celebrate with a stock car.

Do you mean Performance parts? They also don't really add performance wise to the car.
I'm not saying they shouldn't make special models. They still make them. What I'm saying that they can't make a special model for each special edition.

Yeah with the motor being a 4.0L with 414hp, it's pretty much tapped out.
Adding anything to seriously up the power will just make it a shitty car to drive around town.
