FYI: Sweet SRS tool + 20pin adapter = 59$

Just wanted to share this.

I got this from this Toronto based site.
http://www.obd2tech.com/99-bmw-airba...eset-tool.html

So now I finally own that quirky 20pin OBDII adaptor.

My expectations were low but it actually worked!!

--->trigger: the "Seat Belt Buckle switch, driver

I know it may come back but at least now I can Diagnose, Fix and Reset.

Now I need to find a good code reader.

Cheers!

You can get those much cheaper on Ebay. $20-30

Search "bmw b800" on ebay.

Im wondering is there a way to find a diagnositc tool that i can hook up to mylaptop (like the one the dealership would use.), and what major features would it have over a obd2 scanner?

Ok, so the INPA software seems to be the new best thing.
Now, I'm trying to get the needed "OBDII USB" cable...
I would prefer this cable to be compatible also with the BMW GT1 software (DIS?) and possibly other ODBII softwares
So this guy has the cable ($90) but says it's only for INPA...

Anyone here can point me to where I can get the best cable for this application?

thanks

I'd recommend starting a separate thread.
