Does this car come with 4 matching rims? I see a steelie mounted on the passenger rear.

If you truly want to get more money for it, I suggest giving it a good clean-up including the interior. Get it running so any new potential buyers can see/hear the drivetrain is still good to go for sometime. Make sure the brakes are in good working order so test drives can result in positive feedback for you.

Sadly these E12's are not fetching very much especially when you compare them to other classic BMW's like the E9's and 2002's nowadays. E3's are also starting to turn around slowly as long as the rust bug hasn't started transforming them.

This reply is not intended to offend you in any way, just offering you suggestions to help you obtain more than what you've already been offered.

Good luck.

You're absolutely right. We just don't have the time right now. Busy setting up some better air compressor piping and working on some other cars. If it comes to it, then yes we will have to do so. 5 years from now I predict these E12s will be turning around similar to the way the E3s are starting to now. I'm not expecting someone to hand us $5000 for the car as it sits, but just a reasonable offer.

This car needs a RESTORATION!!! Nothing short of that. Not trying to hurt your sale, but very few peaple are ready for this kind of work, even fewer on this site. The hard reality is that people who like this kind of cars will spend some more $$$$ to get a clean original (or restored) one.

Unless you want to do a quick Bondo job, you WILL need to cut and weld new metal in. Most rubber parts will need to be replaced, and so are all fluid lines, gas tank, fuel pump, brakes, bushings, and so much more.

Good luck with the sale, but you might as well clean it up and store it INSIDE for another 10-20 years!

Why people offer UNSOLICITED advice on a for sale thread is very poor form.

Bump for the seller and GLWS.

Unsolicited advice is mandatory for any seller who is out to lunch.

Welcome Mark Dobias (aka 'Mark in Toronto' from mye28)

I see you've decided to come back on-board to MaxBimmer under a different name too.

My addition to this thread was a suggestion that was well received from the seller unless he would like to state otherwise which I have no issues with.

Thanks for the warm welcome back to Max, Eddie Ribeiro aka (Eddie in TO from Mye28.com). Your reputation is well known in these parts.

The way I see it, people such as yourself who offer unsolicited advice may have some knowledge in a certain area, and need to share it with people in order to feel needed and important.

Thanks for the kind words Mark. Have a nice day.

BTW...your first 4 posts speak volumes about who you really are and your hidden agendas.

Thanks Eddie for your hearty and hospitable greeting!

And yes, I've been a big fan of Alpina Man's S54 swap and continue to closely follow the additional modifications he is making to his car.

I would add you owe the OP an apology for highjacking his thread. Shame on you.

Bump for the seller and GLWS.
