Thanks tips.
I welded new ones in when my motor was out. Would be much more difficult with it in to grind out the spot welds.

I have had both of mine replaced, the last one the fellow used some C channel over the existing mount after grinding it down and drilled new holes to mount the bracket to. Both were welded in without the removal of the engine.

I had it done on my old e36 as well, motor in too. I had a local body shop do it that does work for the garage, it was 5 years ago now but they charged me like $200 or something.

^+1. I got mine from Maranello for cheaper than most people wanted for cut-offs from a scrap car. It's a pain to do it right with the motor in, the guys that did my car before I got it did a mickey mouse job. Rabbit shit welds and left half the old bracket on the frame rail. I had to carefully cut it off properly, remove the spot welds, and giver a nice bead all the way around on the engine side ONLY which is how the factory does it. Then you hit the wheel well side with a bead of seam sealer or silicone to keep the salt spray from entering and sitting inside the pocket, which causes the rust.
Yes, I'm OCD with structural parts.

Sway bar mount
Not terribly difficult to do, you will need BMW P/N 41 11 8 151 121 Left or 41 11 8 151 122 Right.

Had mine done about a year and a half ago. Only the drivers side needed doing (got ripped off after a hard turn) and it was rusted to bits. Passenger side is original and looks mint. I think it has to do with where the frame drains rainwater. Sometimes it can get clogged and water just sits in the mount.
Part cost me something like $15 and labour was around $130 at a body shop.

Do these prices include people removing your end links and disassembling everything? Or did you drive the car into the shop with the sway bar unmounted from the car already?
I have a rusted driver's side mount but I've not gotten around to it since the quotes I'm getting are something like 250 for labour and 75 for the part.

Yes, these prices would include disassembly and refitting.
