Lol thanks. I wish it worked though.. That's just my s52 cluster with the euro overlay on it. The euro cluster backing doesn't work due to a fused connection. I'm sourcing a new one so I can have a working oil temp gauge.

Ahh... can't send it to someone to have it repaired?
I just put a CDN M3 cluster in my 328, it's so much nicer then the normal cluster.. but then again I'm a sucker for small things like that.
I had a euro RS4 cluster in my S4 as well. It's the small things that make it nice

I tried getting it repaired with no luck. Once these things go they are pretty much garbage. Getting the mph euro clusters is actually pretty easy. Alex Lipowich sells them for a very fair price. I'm after the km/h ones but since I have the evo km/h gauges I can just swap them into any euro cluster. The oil temp gauge just clips on so you can swap that as well to retain celsius.

I can get the km/h ones but they are very expensive. The guy wants like 350 euros.

I don't see much of a difference to my CND cluster... obviously the oil temp vs. L/100 and the only other thing that is different is the reline markings on the tach gauge. The rest is identical

Usually people say there are no stupid questions, but questions like these are very close. There are too many variables, cost of used parts, amount of work you do yourself, etc, etc. So really it doesn't matter how much he paid because odds are you'll probably do things differently and end up with a different price.
To get a more useful idea on price you can go 3 different routes, 1. price out all the parts yourself and do all the work yourself 2. Ask for a turn-key price at a shop and let them source all the parts for you. 3. A combination of 1 & 2.

finally got to see this thing in person and i can't even begin to describe how sick this car is. The exterior/interior combo is amazing and the swap is just perfect, i couldn't take my eyes off the car for over an hour ( maybe even two )
ps. link me up for a photoshoot of our cars ( I'm liking the calendar idea , we need more clean e36's!!! )
