Have you personally had bad experience with it? They shift extremely smooth, are faster than any human, and are just awesome on the track... and daily its a lot easier on you than manual when sitting on the 401 or gardiner... that's actually one of the biggest benefits of SMG. Had one for 6 years, 239,000km, heavy track, and its through one pump and one clutch (which actually didn't need to be replaced).

M5's and M6's are not track cars, BMW is targeting clients who want high performance and comfortable DD with tons of luxury. They will receive NO backlash from losing the manual in this lineup, hate to tell you. Maybe in the M3 but I can't see them losing the manual in the M3 anytime soon.

Its a 1 series Gran touring... ITS NOT EVEN THE SAME PLATFORM, nor the same wheelbase, dimensions, engines, etc. Learn your models!!!! Its not a matter of time. Don't be shocked if its final sale model is AWD or RWD.

I have, yes. Found it jerky, quirky and a PITA to be honest. Perhaps I drove a lemon but my buddies was the same, he had huge tranny repair bills for a 60000 km car. I have yet to meet a long time owner who liked it and would buy again, you are the first. Glad you liked it but not my cup of tea.

Are you just talking about current e30 owners or anyone who has owned an e30... because you might not be in that 'demographic' either.

Are you in the 'demographic' of those people who think they are rich, so they take on a massive debt just to lease an M3 until one unfortunate day 'they' decide you're unimportant and pass you the pink slip... then it's time to start selling off all the mods you did to the leased M3 before they reclaim it from missed payments.

Or are you in the 'demographic' of paying cash for your M3/5? - I doubt this. lol
