my ac recently stopped working as well and i was starting to panic as aa repair could get quite costly. turned out to be a broken wire and after a few minutes with a solder iron all was right again. do some troubleshooting yourself before you take it to a shop and save some monies!!! for example when you push the ac button is the compressor engaging? has your ac belt snapped? whats the pressure on the low side port with and without the compressor running. if you have good static pressure and the compressor is not engaging could be an electrical problem. if there is no pressure and all the refrigerant has leaked out, then you have to go to a shop and find out where the leak is and then refill.
