I almost made 314K kms on my 325i auto. trans. car, but the head gasket went and so did the car. Since the body was starting to bloom, I decided against fixing it. Too bad we live in a rust belt, otherwise it would have been nice to keep driving the E36....
My buddy mentioned he knew someone with over 500K kms on his E36, and the same person was told by his brother in law that one of his clients has a 1980's Porsche 911 that just turned over 1 million kms; I believe it's going to be featured in an upcoming edition of Excellence magazine.

damn I need to do a new clutch in the spring when the 328 comes out of storage. was slipping in 4th and 5th in the fall when I would jump on the throttle,
it would rev out, come back down, then take off...
only at 170km and I baby her!

1998 328i 330,000km
Original clutch and it's still fine (knock on wood dammit!)
Last 5 years have been track only. That clutch amazes me!
Engine untouched other than MarkD mapping and intake
Religious oil changes, plugs every few years
Original tranny, fluid changed once or twice
Lost count of used diffs and ratios (about 4 or 5)
I put in my own oil pan baffles, did an oil pump while I was in there
Secondary air pump flakes off every now and then. I'd remove it but I'm to lazy to get it programmed out.

My 92 325i now has over 300,00 miles on her (so about 480,000 kms).
Dont know if its the original clutch, but its just went on me so Ill find out pretty soon. Definitely the original engine, and it still runs like a tank.

My 328is had around 430K when i sold it, ran great! Clutch was done before i got it. My Jeep now has 426K on it, original clutch, motor, tranny, transfercase and diffs.
