OBC switch

I'm looking to get a new OBC for my car, but was wondering how to do the swap. I know all you have to do to get the hting out is use a flat head screwdriver to more or less pry it out, but if I get a new one that is exactly the same as the one I already have (11 button), can I just put it in and it will work? Do I have to calibrate anything?

You have to do a bunch of wire splicing. I've done it, and it's really not a big deal.

What I am planning to do is just buy a new 11 button OBC that doesnt have all the dead pixels that my current OBC has and put it in. Really I'm just replacing my current, messed up 11 button OBC with another, better condition OBC. Does it still require all this splicing? I have no need to upgrade to the 18 button really and those wire guides make no sense to me. If changing the two will require all that splicing I'll just deal with the dead pixels. lol
