Newb question.

Shopping right now for my first M3. I have been looking at 2002 models, but wanted to know what to look for, what to watch out for and which E46 M3's are the ones to get and which ones to stay away from?

Won't be doing too many mods, just for a daily driver. All my mod money goes into my 10th Anniv SVT Mustang Cobra. Yes, I'm a mustang guy, on my 7th one.

all i am going to tell you is make sure that whatever m3 you get, get it checked out my a mechanic. trust me. for 02's, just watchout for the catititic converter. i had mine replaced at 120k. just make sure that you keep on top of your maintenance. aside from that, its a beautiful machine.

Thanks! Anything else to look for? I know from owning so many Mustangs, there are some years better than others and some features that come along, like I guess 02 is the start of the SMG with paddle shift?

Just wondering if I should stay away from SMG etc or if there is best bang for buck considerations.

I'll keep checking around the forums too.
